Enclosed YAG/Fiber Laser Machines
YAG lasers and fiber lasers operate at one-tenth the wavelength of the CO2 lasers, and thereby have differing capabilites. YAG and fiber lasers are traditionally used for laser marking metals directly, where CO2 lasers are used for nonmetals engraving or cutting. The difference between the YAG and fiber lasers themselves is small, with regard to wavelength, so they are generally spoken of as having the same laser processing capability. The low power fiber lasers (10 to 40 watts) are typically used for marking in pulsed mode. The larger fiber lasers operate only in Continuous Wave (CW) mode and are used for cutting and welding.
The BL-F series laser markers utilize a flying optic. This enables them to laser mark a much larger area than the galvo style markers. The fiber laser is utilized for these machines because its beam can travel a good distance and maintain quality. The BL-Y-33-300 is a moving bed 300 watt YAG cutter. This powerful laser is the lower cost YAG lamp pumped technology that requires the beam distance to be static. The moving bed is available for different sizes. This exciting new application of technologies in the BL-F series and the BL-Y series makes laser processing more affordable and more capable.

Bell Laser Systems Available
Two types of laser systems dominate the commercial laser market. Each has its strengths in various cutting and marking applications.
CO2 Laser Systems: CO2 refers to the gas mixture used to generate the laser beam. CO2 laser systems used in the engraving and marking industry can range from 10 watts of power to over 1000. Most compact laser systems are offered in the 10 to 80 watt ranges. These units are capable of marking or engraving wood, glass, Plexiglas, acrylic, rubber, ceramics, coated metals and marble. In the higher wattage (40 or greater), material such as acrylic may be completely and accurately cut out to form various shapes.
YAG Laser Systems: These systems operate with a shorter infrared wavelength and are substantially more expensive than CO2 laser systems. These systems are used largely in industrial applications such as cutting, welding, heat treating, perforating and marking. YAG lasers are also used to engrave (mark) bare metals that under normal conditions cannot be marked by a CO2 laser system.
